Hi everyone - thank you for pointing me in the direction of this site - it's great, I shall have great fun finding my way around!!

I just thought we would introduce ourselves. We are a large doodle family in Dorset, with four children, six dogs, two cats and lots of welsh ponies.

We have been seriously into labradoodles for about 6 years now and have now decided to go down the route of breeding our own, what we are endeavoring to be, 'Exceptional and Amazingly Adorable Labradoodles'!
We have spent many years building up our carefully selected breeding stock and now have Stroodle, an F3 cream standard bitch (she has just had the most stunning pups - go to the pups page), Pindy, our lovely black labrador bitch from top field trials stock, Spin, our small yellow labrador, again from a top working strain, Huckleberry, an F1 miniature chocolate/black boy, Mister Moo our parti coloured miniature poodle dog, and finally we are waiting for the arrival of Zeberdee from Germany - also a miniature parti-coloured poodle (undergoing his 6 month rabies free wait prior to being allowed into the UK!). Our aim is to breed superb dogs from health tested stock, with good conformation, good coats and above all fantastic temperaments. We are hoping to develop our own line of small standards and miniature labradoodles, and ultimately parti-coloured labradoodles, starting with our white chests, toes and chins!

We have just launched our website:

and also have loads of pics of our dogs on http:/flickr.com/photos/didlingtondoodles/ if anyone is interested in having a look.

I hope I haven't rattled on too much and bored everyone, but we are all very excited about our labradoodle plans. However, first and foremost all our dogs are part of the family, if fact they have virtually taken over! They live in the house with us and have the most fantastic life! As I speak they are all out with my daughter, down the lane having swimming lessons!! Not sure who is teaching who!

Hi Jerry

Your doodle looks gorgeous too!! Aren't they wonderful dogs.

Huckleberry, my miniature labradoodle boy is now 6 months and turning into the most fabulous dog - and...he is turning a silvery brown so I am thrilled. It is fascinating watching them grow into 'proper' dogs! and his temperament is just delightful and so wicked!!........

I like that pic of Stroodle watching telly - it's actually Bruce Forsythe....I wonder if we could make up a good caption and send it to him??

Hello to all.

"My Husband and I"Hi are interested in becoming parents to a Labradoodle. I've been longing for a dog of my own for many years now, having grown up with dogs in Rhodesia (It's as bad as some women want babies!!!!). As our circumstances are changing soon (mortgage paid July next year) we are in a better possition to become good parents. However in order to be, we have a few questions to ask. Can you help please?

Please advise on the temprement of the breed - are they good with children?
Do they suffer with (excuse me) farting?
I've heard that they can have ear problems is this something we should worry about? Is it easy to manage?
How often do they need trimming/clipping or plucking?
We will certainly want our dog to be chipped and insured, can you advise on the approximate cost of this?
Approximate cost of vacinations?
Due to Ill Health Retirement of my husband (10 years ago) we do not have a great income and therefore, would appreciate a cost on the purchase of a dog and or an address of a shelter in the UK, which is likely to have or receive puppies?
Please advise on how we come by a Standard Labradoodle?

Sorry for so many questions, but I would most grateful for any advise you can provide.

Hi Rhodesia welcome to the forum
I will try and answer some of your questions:)

Please advise on the temprement of the breed - are they good with children?
Labradoodles have a very good temprament and therefore are good with children
Do they suffer with (excuse me) farting?
I always find it depends on what food you feed them:)
I've heard that they can have ear problems is this something we should worry about? Is it easy to manage?
the problem they have is there hair!We clean and trim jerry's ear hair all the time nothing to worry about and easily managed
We will certainly want our dog to be chipped and insured, can you advise on the approximate cost of this?
Approximate cost of vacinations?
I cant remember what we paid now to have jerry micro chipped, will have to ask my wife and we pay about £8 a month for his insurance
Due to Ill Health Retirement of my husband (10 years ago) we do not have a great income and therefore, would appreciate a cost on the purchase of a dog and or an address of a shelter in the UK, which is likely to have or receive puppies?
The Labradoodle resue might be able to help with this
